Commissar Markov has long been a loyal party member, but I fear his growing influence in state policy. Perhaps it is time to cash in a favor from my friends at the Kremlin.

FEMA Concentration Camps: There’s one near you! Via Insty. According to the document, the one in Alaska will hold 2 million people. I’m not sure how they plan to get 2 million people to Alaska, but if they do, this one is fully staffed and ready.

I know soooo many lefties who dearly hope they were on the list.

The “Obamacare” justification is based on false information. Bruce Kessler at Maggie’s Farm. This is pretty typical behavior for the Obama Administration: talking about one thing (beautifully) while doing something entirely different.

An email interview question from the New York Times:

*Do you consider yourself as speaking for the conservative movement, or just someone who has attracted many conservative fans? Something else?

Coulter’s reply was all capital letters to distinguish it from the questions:

I THINK I SPEAK FOR ALL AMERICANS WHO THINK NEWSPAPER EDITORS WHO PRINT THE DETAILS OF TOP-SECRET ANTI-TERRORIST INTELLIGENCE GATHERING PROGRAMS ON PAGE ONE IN WARTIME SHOULD BE EXECUTED FOR TREASON.

A hat tip to Ace.

An ATM that charges more when you’re drunk http://politicsacrossthepond.org/2009/03/10/an-atm-that-charges-more-when-youre-drunk.html http://politicsacrossthepond.org/2009/03/10/an-atm-that-charges-more-when-youre-drunk.html#comments Tue, 10 Mar 2009 20:50:21 +0000 Gordon http://politicsacrossthepond.org/?p=1267 Australia’s Daily Telegraph reports on a new ATM machine for bars. The new machine allows the bar owner to raise the transaction fee late at night, when customers have had a few, and want more. Depending on the contract with the servicing company, the bar owner keeps the transaction fee, or splits it with the servicing company. Fees have been reported as high as AU $5.50 (US $3.50).

atm2 The company supplying these machines, iCash, is marketing them exclusively for Austraila and New Zeeland for the moment. But you can bet they’ll be showing up in other countries soon.

I did check with Marty, the manager at Keegan’s Irish Pub, which is the only Irish pub endorsed by APGFI. Marty says the machine at Keegan’s charges a $2.50 fee, while machines at most other downtown watering holes charge $3. The fee doesn’t change if you’ve had too many pints of Guinness.
